All clients work with us online via teletherapy using a HIPAA compliant platform. DC and Maryland clients also have the option of in-person/office sessions or meeting in a a quiet and private community setting like a library room. We can even meet outdoors and do walking and nature-based therapy. Rachel has an MS in environmental education and is skilled at integrating nature and therapy.
Successful therapy is engaging!
We’ll work together using traditional talk therapy, as well as other therapeutic approaches, dependent upon your specific needs. This might include Cognitive Behavioral, or Narrative therapies. We like to introduce clients to concrete skills building, such as mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques.
If you’ve experienced trauma, you might want to engage in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or IFS-informed therapy (Internal Family Systems). And for those of you who identify as creatives – we incorporate art therapy approaches and a dash of “woo” -think free-writing, lyric-analysis, reflection/action-oriented therapy decks, or Eastern and Indigenous philosophy.
The practice offers both individual and group counseling sessions. Groups focus on community and self-esteem building. Themes include eco-therapy, ADHD acceptance and coping sills, harm for substance use, and cultivating confidence through creative arts.
Out of Network (OON) sessions range from $150 to $300 and offer military discounts. We accept BCBS; Aetna (including EAP); Optum (United); Cigna; Mutiplan; Curalink EAP and Tricare. We’re in the process of paneling with Magellan.
